A Call to Obedience – Genesis 22

Genesis 22 is an account of Abraham’s act of obedience to offer his only son as a sacrifice to the Lord.

Here we see how Abraham was willing to sacrifice the one he loved the most. The child of promise – The one God gave him after many years.

Abraham must have loved Issac more than his wealth and possession. Since the time Issac was born he must have spent most of his time and energy with him – talking, playing & doing all sorts of things. He must have watched him sleep, tried protecting him from all dangers and harm.

But when God asked him to sacrifice his son, he was quick to give up the one he loved the most without even thinking twice. No fear, no hesitation in obeying God.

Question for our hearts:

What is it that God wants us to give up today?

In Romans 12:1 Paul writes “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

What is it that we love about yourself the most?

Is it our comfort, our time, our lustful thoughts and activities, our ungodly dreams & desires, our pride, our wealth & possession, etc

God expects unconditionaly obedeince from us, no matter how hard to may look and feel.

And if we are not willing to give up the things we love the most when God asks to give up then our faith is incomplete and we are immature.

Also remember, God’s not a debtor to any man. He can give it back to us in double mesaure, but what is desires the most from us is our unwavering faith and our unconditional love.

Bible verses to meditate:

Deuteronomy 11:1Love the LORD your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always.

1 Peter 1:14As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.

Romans 2:6-8God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” 7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.

James 1:25But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

Poem: Mercy Triumphs!

Am I a modern day Pharisee- a white washed tomb, consumed by knowledge that I have forgotten to love?
Or am I Hosea’s wife, caressing an adultress world satisfying lust and greed?
There’s a deep thirst that’s unquenchable
Even the best things in the world seems to miss.
Ah! All is vanity under the sun.

Passing by wounded lives, unmoved,
Whatever happened to the child who would break at the sight of hate.
Why am I changing to look like the world compromised and cold?

A deep cry, a raging storm with a beautiful mask
How I wish one can look deep within
You promised you can
My heart longs for You my Saviour
Rescue me before my heart grows cold

You said even in my abundant sin your grace would abound
You promised to rescue me even if I make my bed in hell. And Yes You did, You found me.
Even though I run far away from You. You relentlessly pursue me
My wounded heart screams vengeance
But then Your sweet Spirit reminds me You were pierced for me
Broken and rejected for me
There on the cross, you bled for my transgression
Making a plea of forgiveness for my offenders
Gently whispering –“You’ll rise my love. Just follow me and see mercy triumph.”

Poem: Raised From The Dead!!!

Dressed pretty with bandages that wrap my wounds and dead and broken dreams,
People dread to unwrap these bandages fearing the mess and the unpleasant stench,
They mourn the death and convinced its all over,
Where no one else can see or can reach.
Deep cried unto deep,
A cry for life.

Jesus you visit me while everyone else said its too late,
You call me by my name,
Your words breathe life into this dead being,
You unwrapped the messy and stinking wounds that none want to catch a glimpse of,
You are the balm that healed my brokenness,
You alone loved me and cared to rescue me from my grave clothes,
Your love covered the multitude of death, sin and brokenness
You clothe me with a garment of praise
Your love is true life!

A serious calling

1 Corinthians 9:26-27So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

The call to serve the Lord is serious and requires 100% commitment.

Paul’s tone in this passage reflects his seriousness & commitment towards his calling.

He is focused on his goals, unwilling to compromise, unwilling to give in to his fleshly desires, unwilling to fail or give-up in any condition.

Where does Paul get his strength and determination from?

In 1 Corinthians 2:2 he writes “I determined to know nothing while I was with you – except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified”

In Philippians 4:13 he says “I can do all things through him (Christ) who strengthens me”

Paul also encourages the church in Rome in Romans 12:11 saying “Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in Spirit, serve the Lord”

Paul’s determination comes from knowing Christ and his saving grace.

It is Christ, his compelling love that pushes us to live a determined life, fulfill our calling and purpose for which we are created.

Do you realize that we too have this great privilege just like Paul, to draw strength from our relationship with Christ?

If you do, then I want to encourage you to go to him every day and ask for his Spirit, to help, to guide and lift you up to achieve great things for the Kingdom of God.

A good desire

1 Corinthians 8:2“If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know. But if anyone loves God, he is known by God.”

What’s a good desire to have? – To know everything or to know the one who knows everything?

The latter sounds like a better and perfect desire to me, to know the one who knows everything. And all I have to do is to love Him.

Loving Him means accepting His love for us displayed through His son Jesus and trusting him and his finished work on the cross which in fact enables us to love the Father, our creator, the one who knows everything, with all our heart, mind and soul. This is also our ultimate goal and purpose for life.

Our greatest joy and satisfaction is tied up with us loving him.

So, let us cultivate this healthy desire to daily love God and appreciate his expression of love displayed through his son Jesus and admonish the good life we have in Him.

Dealing with Stress at Workplace

Stress is our emotional & physical response to the pressures of life, especially in the workplace.

Have you ever wondered why we go through it and how can we deal with it? In this article, I’m going to share just that.

Two most prominent reasons why I think people go through stress is – Living a demanding lifestyle & a desire to control.

The more demanding life becomes, the more stressed we become in our attempt to keep up the pace. And because we want to keep up the pace and do it consistently we end up desiring control over all aspect of our lives. We become aggressive and competitive by nature, exhibit a need to win in everything which is what leads us to more stress and self-destruction.

A biblical answer to deal with stress is simply ‘Obedience’.

1 Peter 5:6-7 says “Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you”.

Peter gives a rather simple yet valuable insight regarding stress. He cites obedience as a stress buster.

You see some stress in our lives is the direct result of our sin, sometimes ours, sometimes others, and most of the time both. And therefore it is often our disobedience that compounds our stress.

Living a demanding lifestyle is often a heart condition that says what I have is not enough and therefore I need more. It is our failure to find contentment in the sufficiency of our savior Jesus Christ. The truth be said the demands for material things is an unending saga and true satisfaction can only be found in the work of Christ in our lives.

Peter’s encouragement to us is to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God and trust that he will exalt us in due time, casting all our cares upon him, for he cares for us.

The solution to getting rid of stress is, therefore, to simply be obedient to this command and give the reign of our lives into the hands of our savior Jesus who knows what is best for us and the right time to exalt us. Believe that in His time He will make everything beautiful and learn to find our true joy and contentment in Christ.

Combating Depression

Disappointment, Discouragement, Depression.

We’re all fairly familiar with these. It’s something that we struggle with more often than we would like to admit. There’s always been this awkwardness with talking about these things to other people. Even in Christian circles, Depression is probably looked at as the person struggling with their Faith in God.

The recent shocking news of the lead singer of the band Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, committing suicide is all over my Facebook news feed. Apparently he had 6 children from 2 wives, everyone knows he had an illustrious career with him being one of the most well known faces even for those who don’t listen to rock music.

Makes you wonder, what would cause someone like that to suddenly take his own life? I don’t know enough about him, so it would be unfair to make assumptions about his lifestyle. But it does throw some light on the serious consequences of struggling with depression.

Depression isn’t something new, it’s always been around. The Psalmist laments in Psalm 42

“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?…”

But the next line is where he encourages himself

“… Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God”

In another situation in Psalm 73:26 he acknowledges

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever”

We are weak in the flesh and in our hearts, situations and circumstances may overwhelm us, but the one thing that can comfort even in those times is depending on the strength of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ because he has overcome the world (John 16:33).

Having struggled on and off with depression myself I know that what encourages me in those times is going back to God in prayer and reading through His word.

1 Peter 5:6-7 says

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you”

Sometimes the hardships we face are needed to humble us and bring us to a place of dependence on God. To cast our troubles and fears on to him because he is more than capable of handling it. This is the Saviour who died on the cross to spare us from the punishment that we deserved, of course he cares!

Sometimes, even though we know these things, it’s so easy to forget them. Which is why it’s so important for us to surround ourselves with other believers who we can be accountable to and who can remind us of these truths when we need to hear it.

And lastly, as Christians, how do we respond to the people we see around us battling with discouragement? 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 says

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we may comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God”

Out of love for our friends and family, the least we can do is tell them about the hope and comfort that we receive from Jesus. We can tell them about God’s unfailing promises and encourage them to repent of the sins that they’re holding onto. And we can pray that they would never feel so discouraged that taking a drastic step like the way Chester did seems like the only way out.

The Message for the Wedding Day (Jinson & Angela)

When you read the Bible one of the most common and beautiful metaphors used for the church is that of a bride. It tells us that God in all of His glory has created a bride to share Himself with in covenant love.

You see He created a people to take on His name & to bear His image to the world. But what makes this especially beautiful is the way that He loves us. He loves us un-conditionally, He loves us covenantally.

Even in our unfaithfulness and in our rebellion God in His sovereignty has made a way to purify us & restore us to Himself and all of this happens through an incredible love story with His Son Jesus that culminates in a marriage. A marriage between Christ & His church.

When a husband & wife come together it is meant to be a picture of that love story. It’s a tangible expression of how God loves us. Jinson & Angela – That is what your marriage is intended to be. It is a living testimony to the love that God shows us in His Son.

That is why I love the Colossians 3 passage so much!

Not only does it give us explicit instructions for husbands and wives but those instructions are preceded with a reminder of WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST and WHAT WE NOW HAVE ACCESS TO IN CHRIST.

Let me read these few verses again for us in Colossians 3 — this is verses 12-19.

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and lead them with all gentleness and care.

Now before I get to some specific exhortations for each of you I’d like to point out a few observations from the text that will help us understand God’s design & intention for marriage.

1. You do not marry for love – YOU MARRY BECAUSE OF LOVE

This is very important. As God’s children we are designed to live from our identity not to work for our identity. Notice how this passage begins by reminding us that we are God’s chosen ones holy & beloved.

This could not be more profound. Jinson & Angela, you are God’s chosen ones, holy & beloved. Not only have you been rescued by God’s love but you have now been invited to reflect His faithfulness & love to the world around you. Isn’t that incredible?

Through your marriage you as 2 flawed people you get to experience the limitless grace & unconditional love of God. And then you get to express that through marriage to the world around you.

That’s why you must always remember that the primary purpose of your marriage is not to fulfill you or to make you happy. It is to further display God’s glory to the world around you.

Marriage is not just a contractual arrangement between two people. Marriage exists to magnify the truth & the worth & the Beauty & the Greatness of our God.

That means marriage is not your personal vending machine of happiness. Anyone here who’s been married for more than a week will attest to that.

Nor is your marriage an agreement in which you help one another achieve your personal goals. The purpose of your marriage is way more significant than that…

Your marriage is a display of the depth and richness of God’s love and faithfulness to you and to all of His creation.

OR — I could put it this way. Marriage was created by God // for God // to reflect God. It was designed to be an image of the heart of the one who invented and created it

So — that’s the 1st observation. That we marry because of the love that God has poured out into our hearts and our marriages are a reflection of that love to the world.

The 2nd observation is that Christ is the only way to sustain the type of love.

Listen again to Colossians 3 — — verse 15

“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.”

You see — marriage is not based on a commitment. Marriage is the commitment. It is two becoming one. It is a love that doesn’t just share common interests & desires & plans. It is a selfless love where each of you is willing to forsake your image & become one with each other.

Despite one another’s faults & quirks & failures you are one. And so — you don’t have to hide or perform or pretend. There is no earning in your marriage, there is safety.

This is the message of the gospel that you are no longer identified by your failure to reach God’s holy standard but instead you are identified in Christ by his perfect love and sacrifice for you. As I said earlier you are now free to live from your identity in Him…

That is a characteristic of covenant love. It means that our relationship with God is not dependent upon performance but upon His promise and so it is with the covenant of marriage.

Just as God promises that He will never leave us or forsake us you are saying that you will never leave or forsake one another. You are becoming one flesh.

And so — your covenant is to love one another like God loves you and your marriage is now a daily reminder of His great love and faithfulness to you.

Please hear this. This is only possible if the word of Christ dwells richly within your hearts. You need the peace that comes from being accepted based on grace and not performance and we find that peace when we rest in the gospel.

The final observation I would make is something that I’ve already eluded to. Marriage is not the end but a means to fulfill our purpose.

Listen again to verse 17…

17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Adam was put in the garden to enjoy God and bear His image to the world. Adam couldn’t fulfill that by himself. He needed a suitable partner to accomplish God’s purposes.

As you live out God’s purposes in your life you get to do that in a way that shows people the beauty of God. That is why I can say confidently that your marriage is mission.

You get to display God’s love for the world through the way you are committing to love one another. Your marriage has the most profound purpose —

TO DISPLAY THE GLORY OF GOD!!!

Isn’t that beautiful?

So – Jinson & Angela – In light of that there are 3 things that I would like to encourage and challenge each of you in today. 3 practical ways that you can reflect God’s love to the world as you love each other.

Jinson — I’ll start with you…

First, I want you to remember 2 words: Repentance & Forgiveness – You must learn to practice repentance and forgiveness quickly and often.

Now — Jinson — we all know you’re a great guy. But I promise you there will be plenty of opportunity for you to practice these 2 things.

When you hurt your wife or your wife hurts you as the leader of the household — it’s up to you to pursue your wife to seek reconciliation. (This is a reflection of God’s heart for us)

“God being rich in mercy while we were still sinners died for us.”

Jinson — In the same way seek and pursue your wife. There is no greater display of Christ to the world then this type of love.

Second, Be Patient, Humble & Gentle with your wife — always

When things don’t go as planned and your expectations are let down. Look to God for the strength to be patient and gentle towards your wife. Look to Jesus as your example.

Your wife is not a foe to be bested or an obstacle to get around. She is your very flesh. She is you – You are her – She takes on your last name as a symbol of unity – You are TOGETHER in this.

Finally – Seek to provide for your wife

Now — it’s important that you know, I’m not just talking about money. God is our provider, He clothes us & feeds us & gives us shelter.

You are both hard workers and I trust that God will provide for you in that way. What I’m talking about is that as you submit to Christ and depend on Him to provide for both of you in every way that you also provide for your wife in the most important ways.

You provide Security – She needs to know that no matter what – You are not going anywhere.

You provide Love — She is the standard of beauty from this point forward. There is no other person besides Christ who should capture your affections even close to the depth that Angela does.

You provide Leadership — you provide a spiritual refuge for your wife to dwell in. You are always to lead Angela toward Christ not away from Him. Your heart is to desire God for her and want her and your children to know, cherish, obey & pursue their creator.

Now — Angela — it’s your turn

First, Practice repentance & forgiveness quickly and often.

Where you recognize what God has done for you, you get to display that same type of love and forgiveness to your spouse.

Again — I promise you, there will be plenty of opportunities for this. There will be more than enough time to learn how to say I am sorry and I forgive you.

Second, Fight for your husband’s Honor.

Angela… Do you know what Jesus says to The Father about the church?

Jesus says “she (the church) is clean and pure and holy and righteous” —- “She is spotless and perfect”

Because of the sacrifice that Jesus made for you the Father sees nothing but perfection. In the same way that Jesus upholds your name, you do the same for your husband among others.

The Bible says that you shall leave your mother and father and the two shall become one flesh. Realize that whatever picture you paint of Jinson to the world is really a picture of yourself. Seek to always see Jinson and your marriage as a reflection of God to the world.

Finally, Pray for your husband constantly.

Recognize that the strength that Jinson needs to lead you and care for you does not come from you and it doesn’t come from him. It comes from the power of Christ’s death and resurrection and it is sustained by the power of the Holy Spirit which He has given us.

Only Christ can sustain your marriage and that is the way it was designed to be. When you spend time praying for your husband and praying for your marriage to be a display of Christ’s love to the world you will Hold your Marriage as precious.

If your marriage is going to make God look glorious, you must find more satisfaction in God than in your marriage.

The Message for Engagement Day (Jinson & Angela)

Recently I had the privilege of speaking at the engagement ceremony of my dear friends Jinson & Angela. Jinson is one of the leaders of The Gathering Community Church and soon to be an Elder.

The engagement happened in Kerala, the south of India and it was a joy to meet the families and all their well-wishers.

Before we prayed over them and blessed them we looked at God’s word from the Epistle of Colossians 2:2,3,6 & 7 and allowed God to speak to our hearts.

A brief background check on the Epistle of Colossians tells us that the epistle was written by Paul to the saints in Colossae and he begins the letter by thanking God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the faith of the believers in Christ Jesus and their love for all their saints [Colossians 1:3-4].

Which is exactly what I would like to say about Jinson & Angela. I have known them for more than a year now. My wife and I have spent time with them, doing ministry together, praying together, sharing our faith together.

Above every good quality, attractiveness, charisma and sweetness around them I want to commend them for their faith in Christ Jesus, in the last couple of years not even once have I seen them waver from this faith.

Very rarely do we get to see a young couple like them passionate for Jesus and full of zeal for the Kingdom of God, and love for Gods people.

Paul then goes on to pray for their spiritual growth and in verse 9 onwards makes a beautiful god-centered prayer over them.

He says “From the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God”

And that is exactly what I would like to pray over them as they step into this new journey.
When we come to chapter 2 and verse 2 Paul expresses his desire for them and this is what he says.
“Their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ”

I want all of you to stop here for moment and think through that verse.

Paul’s desire is not that they will become rich, famous, enjoy great health & prosper. But his deepest desire is that they may be ‘joined together in Loveso that they may have the full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ.

His deepest desire is that they may know Christ.

Why? He answers that question in verse 3 by saying “Because all treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ”

In a generation where we look up to the latest technology to give us satisfaction, the next charismatic leader to lead the country and bring peace and harmony, the next business idea that will make it big and make us rich.

Paul is reminding us that there is nothing more satisfying, nothing more fulfilling and nothing more pleasurable than knowing and treasuring Christ.

Here’s how Paul describes the deity of Christ in Colossians 1:15-22 and the reason why we need to treasure him the most.

He writes “Christ is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him”

And finally in Chapter 2:6 & 7 he writes “Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”

As I conclude my sharing here’s my final words to Jinson & Angela on their engagement day and to everyone reading this.

1. As you step into this new life together – Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus & treasure Him the most.

2. Constantly remind yourself this Gospel – That you were once alienated and hostile in your minds because of sin – And Jesus reconciled you by His physical body through His death, to present you holy; faultless and blameless before God.

3. Stop trying to please men, instead live a life that pleases God and brings glory to His name.

I’ve been married for more than 10 years now and blessed to 2 lovely boys. Let me tell you there is no secret formula for a successful marriage. All I know to be true and scriptural for a successful anything is treasuring Christ above all else.

For last 10 years God has sustained our marriage and allowed us to serve in His kingdom as a family. If this is true for us than it is true for anyone who believes in Jesus, abides in Him and treasures Him in their heart.

I want to end this message by quoting John Piper

“Marriage is not mainly about being or staying in love. It’s mainly about telling the truth with our lives. It’s about portraying something true about Jesus Christ and the way he relates to his people. It is about showing in real life the glory of the gospel”

What does Worship really mean?

Most of the time we’re confused with what worshiping God really means when in fact our understanding of worship should be the most crucial element of being a follower of Jesus.

Whatever we believe about worship is how we will pursue it and a wrong understanding will eventually set our hearts on the wrong things and ruin our relationship with God.

And most often the reason for this confusion is the wrong Christian culture around us that makes us believe in something that is not true and accurate as per the word of God.

One of the most common misunderstanding about worship is that it is all about singing and playing instruments and creating an environment where we sense the presence of God around us.

If that is what we believe than whenever we hear the word ‘worship’ we will think about that holy presence we need to enter by singing some songs and playing some instruments. And when we fail to take out enough time from your busy schedule to create that environment of worship we give up pursuing God and ruin our relationship with Him. And the next thing we look for is another musical revival conference or a concert to bring us back to feel good.

Some may believe worship means just going to church every Sunday and been part of community group once in a week. If that is what is we believe than when church service stops making us feel good and comfortable we end isolating ourselves and killing our soul.

Yet another group of people think worship is sitting before GOD TV and watching programs that talk about prosperity, health and wealth gospel. If that is what we believe then when we’re off the TV set, out in the world working in our offices, paying our bills, going through the ups and downs of life, tired and exhausted we end up becoming disappointed with ourselves and with God for not fulfilling his promises of heath and wealth.

I believe a true biblical understanding of worship will set us free from this ugly rut of been tossed around by the enemy who so wants to destroy our relationship with God.

When you read the following scriptures about worship attentively you will realize that worship is much more than just singing and playing.

John 4:23-24 – But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Romans 12:1 – I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Matthew 15:8-9 – “ ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

I loved reading an article on Desiring God about worship and don’t think I can explain it better than John Piper, I’m think simply going to refer you to that link instead of re-phrasing it and plead you to read it carefully and re-define the true meaning of worship.

Here’s a gist of what he shares in the article:

True worship is a valuing or a treasuring of God above all things.

The inner essence of worship is the response of the heart to the knowledge of the mind when the mind is rightly understanding God and the heart is rightly valuing God.

The inner essence of worship is to know God truly and then respond from the heart to that knowledge by valuing God, treasuring God, prizing God, enjoying God, being satisfied with God above all earthly things. And then that deep, restful, joyful satisfaction in God overflows in demonstrable acts of praise from the lips and demonstrable acts of love in serving others for the sake of Christ.

I promise that this understanding of worship will truly liberate you and make your relationship with God even more stronger. Do let me know your thoughts on this article and feel free to ask any question.
